Hunt for the King. Monster fishing tour.

US$Individual. 7 days.

The highlight of the tour is fishing near the active volcano White Island.

Arrival dates upon request.

The tour is perfect for busy people who are passionate about fishing - only 7 days, but lots of adventures.

During the tour, you will hunt the most famous fish for its strength and fighting qualities - Kingfish.

Various techniques - trolling, jigging, popper and stickbait casting, live bait - we'll try everything.

Four days on the water - two places in the amazing Bay of Plenty - the Mercury Islands and the waters of White Island.

Since we're already on the ocean, we'll naturally spice up the day and try our luck at marlin, and we'll probe the bottom for scaly-sided trout and bluenose. In the evening, we'll swim, sit, and eat... see some squid, catch some, and cook some...

The cultural component isn't forgotten either. The tour also includes a sightseeing tour of Auckland, a visit to the Wai-o-Tapu geothermal valley with the famous Champagne Lake, and a Maori show with a hangi dinner—a traditional dish cooked in earthen ovens.

Your caught fish can be smoked and vacuum-packed for transport home, if desired. For convenient distribution on deck, we recommend groups of up to six people.

Kingfish – Kingfish. These large, powerful fish are numerous and relatively easy targets, but landing them is a whole other story! Sometimes they are almost impossible to stop; they skillfully exploit the bottom contours to break your line, and no matter their size, Kingfish will fight tooth and nail, never giving up.

Summer—December through February—is the best time for target fishing for kingfish, but they can be caught year-round. In winter, the fish are less common, but generally larger.

Kingfish are active predators , hunting other fish and feeding on squid and crustaceans. Juveniles begin their lives feeding on plankton, but soon switch to larger prey. Large specimens are quite capable of swallowing live fish weighing several kilograms.

Fishing methods: live bait fishing using Kahawai fish (similar in size to pink salmon or small chum salmon), trolling, spinning, vertical jigging.

Often, after landing a couple of fish and holding on to your "half-torn" hands, you're tempted to give the spinning rod to someone else, but the excitement takes over, and the lure sinks back into the depths...

The largest Kingfish specimens in the world are caught around New Zealand.
